Much before Miley Cyrus’ and Justin Beibers could create a sensation; we danced to the tune of the title track Hip Hip Hurray. The series starred some of the well-known faces of theatre and television industry of that time - Vinay Pathak, Suchitra Pillai, Sanjai Mishra and Sulabha Arya. The Shoot Location
The entire series which is based on campus of DeNobili High School was actually shot in St. Mary’s High School of Mazgaon in Mumbai. Don’t you think you ought to give it a visit?
Singers KK and Hema Sardesai
Singers KK and Hema Sardesai sang the title track of Hip Hip Hurray and a year later they teamed up for Kareena Kapoor’s film Khushi’s track Hai Re Hai Re.
Producer Ronnie Screwvala who has had a successful run at the Box Office with hits like Khoobsurat, Barfi!, Himmatwala, Satyagraha etc. was also the producer of this epic series.
Remember Nirjara from Tere Naam? Well, she starred in the first episode of the series. Yes, Bhumika Chawla was a part of Hip Hip Hurray.
Nupur Asthana, the co-director of the show went on to direct Zee TV’s miniseries Time Bomb with Ketan Mehta and she has also directed the critically-acclaimed film Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge and a commercial hit, Bewakoofiyaan.
